48 Hours in the Cotswolds

The Cotswolds is famous for its beautiful villages and picturesque cottages built from honey-coloured stone. It’s a great place for a short break as it’s easily accessible by road or rail. Read on for my guide to 48 hours in the Cotswolds – what to visit and where to stay. VISIT – BURFORD Burford is one of England’s most attractive medieval market towns, 20 miles west of Oxford.

It’s a pretty market town, and the buildings are made of golden Cotswold stone. The best place to park is by the church and the river, as it’s free and you can stay as long as you want. Do take a look inside St John the Baptist church, it’s one of the oldest buildings in Burford and more like a cathedral in its scale. There are quite a few interesting shops – we stocked up at the Cotswold Cheese Company with some Burford..
