I was recently invited to a brunch celebrating the launch of the collaboration between world famous architect Zaha Hadid and equally renowned jewellers, Aziz and Walid Mouzannar. Zaha Hadid has created a magnificent Silene cuff from white gold and 1,048 diamonds in a limited edition of twelve. It was showcased to great effect in her gallery in Clerkenwell, where I was fortunate to meet Alia and Dori Mouzannar, the talented siblings who each have their own jewellery collections for the house of Mouzannar.
They are the sixth generation of this Lebanese jewellery family, continuing the legacy whilst continually innovating. Brunch was a tempting spread laid on by Exeter Street Bakery. Their motto is “Made in London, Inspired by Italy” and they have two London cafes, one in Finsbury Park and one in Kensington. Dori talked me through his stunning designs – each one features at least one ruby.
