Marylebone is one of my favourite areas of London, with lots of interesting boutiques, attractive Georgian townhouses and some fantastic eateries. One of the best of these is Aubaine, an elegant spot for all day dining. Located just off Marylebone High Street, it’s a restaurant, boulangerie, and pâtisserie all rolled into one.
With a chic dove-grey decor and industrial style lighting, it has a very relaxed feel. Aubaine’s philosophy is of simple French luxury and prices are incredibly reasonable for the area, with a two course set menu at lunchtimes for £13.50. Funnily enough, Aubaine actually means bargain, godsend or windfall. We started off in style with a chilled glass of Prosecco. The set menu changes regularly in line with the seasons. On our visit I opted for the salad of smoked chicken with mango, quinoa and winter leaves.
