With the festive season upon us, my hair was in need of some serious TLC, so I recently popped into Brooks+Brooks, a luxury salon on Sicilian Avenue, for a style refresh. The salon is co-owned by Jamie and Sally Brooks, both three times winner of the coveted title of London Hairdresser of the Year. Sicilian Avenue is a picturesque pedestrianized street just off Kingsway and Holborn.
Constructed in 1910, it takes its name from its distinctive Italian architecture and is home to a number of interesting shops and cafés. Arriving at Brooks+Brooks, I admired their festive window displays. Whilst inside the salon, there were some tasty biscuits for customers to help themselves to. Fresh flowers added to the luxurious atmosphere – they have quite a few celebrity clients and the ambiance of the salon is upmarket but functional.
