London Fashion Week AW15 has kicked off with a big bang. From Matthew Hubble’s scientifically inspired new collection, to Ashley Isham’s elegant creations and the whimsical designs of Clio Pepplatt, read on for my highlights from Day 1 of LFW. MATTHEW HUBBLE I started at the Royal Institution with a visit to Matthew Hubble‘s stunning Autumn-Winter collection.
They created a dress for May-Britt Moser, the Nobel Prize winner to wear to the awards ceremony, and have used this inspiration for all their recent designs. I was impressed by their work ever since I attended their first LFW show, last September. Matthew and Maria created the Grid Cell Dress from silk satin with metallic leather strips, using sequins and beads to represent neurons.
